Leadership Training

Are you looking for the opportunity to develop and improve yourself? Do you want to go to college or join the military after graduating? Would you like to share a unique high school experience with students who will become your friends for life?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then the High School of Commerce’s U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) program just might be right for you.

A cooperative effort between the U.S. Army and the High School of Commerce, our JROTC program has more than 220 student participants (or “cadets”) who are motivated to become better citizens as part of the Red Raiders Battalion.

Many of our JROTC students become involved in our after-school activities, including our many drill teams, our Physical Training (PT) Team, the Raider Team, and the Academic Team. There are also opportunities to advance in the program by being promoted in the Cadet Chain of Command (CCC). These promotions can take you from being a basic cadet to Battalion Commander (BC), based on grade point average (GPA) and proficiency in areas of the JROTC program.
